Glenn Douglas Barnard was born in 1947. Cornick was his stepfather's name which is the name that he is known by. He was also known as Glenn Douglas (his middle name). In an interview with A New Day fanzine, he says that the first band he ever played with was called Joey and the Jailbrakers because two band members where real jailbrakers! All of the other bandmembers were fifteen years older then Glenn. Originally Glenn Cornick played guitar and Joey and the Jailbreakers was the first time that he played bass. He then played with a band called The Vikings for about a year, followed by a band called Formula One. After that he moved permanently from Barrow to Blackpool and formed The Hobos with Ronnie Brambells, Chris Riley and Chris Wootton. That project didnīt last for more than 1― years and he went on to play with a band called The Executives, with Roy Carr and Tony Williams (who played live with Jethro Tull in the late '70s). After that he joined The John Evan Band (later The John Evan Smash, see Jethro Tull). The line-up was basically Ian Anderson, John Evan (of course), Jeffrey Hammond(-Hamond) and Barriemore Barlow, which was became Jethro Tull in late '71 (and was so until '75)! In late autumn 1967 "John Evan Smash" gradually became Jethro Tull. They officially started in 1968, with their first gig at the Marquee Club. Glenn Cornick played with Jethro Tull until December 1970. Then he formed Wild Turkey in January 1971 (which lasted until approximately 1973). After that he moved to Berlin were he played with the band Karthago. In 1974 they released their second album called "Rock n' Roll Testament". His last effort was a band called Paris, which released two albums "Paris", 1975 and "Big Town 2061" in 1976. After that he did some session work with a couple of bands but he can't remember their names. For five years he didnīt play at all but in the early '90s he began to play again, when he was convinced to play some Irish music. According to Glenn, he is now head over heels in love! He has also recorded a new Wild Turkey CD, "Stealer of Years" in 1996. (A New Day mag. approximately Jan 1993)
